Earth day is coming up on April 22nd and there are many ways to celebrate to show your support for the environment. On April 22, 1970, the first official Earth Day, an estimated 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and classrooms to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment and show their commitment to protecting the Earth. Today, more than one billion people and national governments in 192 countries recognize Earth Day. The popularity and importance of Earth Day has grown so much that one day isn’t enough time to fit in all the activities. Some companies and communities choose a day during that week to celebrate so all can enjoy a host of activities throughout their community. What will you do to celebrate Earth Day this year?
